Ashley van Strien (founder)
Ashley has a long career in Hospitality beginning at a very young age working in her family businesses. She was taught service at the highest level. From her humble beginnings in the restaurants of Vancouver to completing the Hospitality Management program at VCC. Her love of service took her in a new direction after she felt traditional hotels were not for her. In January 2008, Modern Life Management was born and she hasn’t looked back. When she’s not servicing her clients or guiding her team, you can find Ashley in the mountains, skiing, biking or just being with friends and family. We must note that she has a very large amount of children, how many you ask?

Julianne Bell (partner)
Julianne has a diverse work experience that includes; Operations & Product Development, Marketing & Sales, Client Relations & Support, Event Management, Administration & Teaching. She worked for Flight Centre for 10 years; managing a Travel Agency before moving into the Marketing Department and working with Travel Suppliers from all over the world. In 2013, she moved to New Zealand and taught a Business Diploma course at a National Tourism School. Most recently, she helped successfully launch a Real Estate Software company in Vancouver before joining Modern Life Management in 2019. Julianne has a Bachelor of Business from LaTrobe University in Australia and a Diploma in Marketing & Tourism Management from BCIT. She is also loves photography, music and has traveled to over 30 countries.
Her superpower is her knowledge and zest for technology.
Erica Massey (team member)
Erica graduated from the University of British Columbia with her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Indigenous Studies, and minor in Counselling Psychology. She later became a certified Health Care Assistant in 2012 with VCC to pursue her endeavors in seniors home care and companionship with her SJA Certified Therapy Dog, Sloopy. Erica has the enthusiasm and compassion to assist with daily tasks, and as a Certified Intuitive Practitioner, Group facilitator, and Mother of two, Erica can bring that extra emotional quality and sensitivity needed for any client situation.
Her superpower is her super-sweet calming demeanor.
Pauline Chamberlaine (team member)
Pauline is an accomplished Recruitment Manager, specializing in Scientific Recruitment. Her experience in all levels of business; Marketing, Sales, Client and Candidate Generation garnered her ‘Recruiter of the Year 2007’ in the United Kingdom. Her earlier years were spent in a research lab for Proctor and Gamble performing chemical and stability analysis of raw materials and finished products including shampoos, and shower gels. Very cool. Pauline was educated in Biophysics at Liverpool John Moores University. She has a strong love of nature and the mountains, her free time is spent with 2 children and husband either camping, mountain biking or snowboarding.

Brigid Charlebois (team member)
Brigid recently moved to Vancouver after ten years of working on private yachts around the world as a stewardess. Managing an interior team on a luxury floating hotel has its challenges and rewards. Providing an exceptional guest experience, food and beverage service and detailed housekeeping are yacht standard and set the bar for Brigid's client services. Studies in fine art and make-up artistry help her live life with a creative flair!
Her superpower is her ability to remain calm in any circumstance.
